Get Naked

Scripture
John 11:38-44 Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance. 39"Take away the stone," he said. "But, Lord," said Martha, the sister of the dead man, "by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days."40Then Jesus said, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?" 41So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me." 43When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" 44The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go."


Observation
Every time Jesus sees us dying He is moved and wants to do something about it. The stone in front of Lazarus' tomb represents sin. WIthout the stone taken away we are merely stuck inside a dark hole. Jesus can see that we are capable of getting out of the hole, but others see us rotting. They pray for sinners and believeing theyll rise again but they cant take us out of the hole. Only Jesus can command us out of the hole of death. Than when we come out we still have wraps on us which represent scars, memories, hard feelings, bitterness, shame, guilt. When Jesus said "take off the grave clothes and let him go" He was talking to satan to take off all that he bounded him with. Because with Christ he is new and free.

Application
We all sin, everyday. We make mistakes and are left with guilt, shame, bitterness, memories etc. But when we come before Jesus, He forgives us for those sins and wants us to take off the grave clothes. To walk as new creations to believe in life and not death. But first we have to move the stone in front of our hole of death and allow God to call us out.

Prayer
Lord,
With all your glory, strength, power, and authority move my stone. I want out of the hole of death and live in the light of who you are. God, take off my grave clothes with your mercy, grace, and forgiveness. Forgive me for sinning because I know its wrong and yet I still do it. I exalt you with my life. I follow you and want you all the days of my life. I raise you up with my prayers, with my voice, and with my heart. You are why I live, I breathe, i love. You are absolutely everything to me, never leave my side or else I'd be lost.

The Condemned

Scripture
John 8:10-11 Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" 11 "No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."

Observation
Jesus did not just say your not condemned, He declared it meaning that there is absolutely no condemnation in Christ. He sees it all, knows it all and yet He continues loving us as if we were His perfect little children. God told us to be like little children because He wants to treat us that way. With our innocence and purity God is holding us. That woman was probably ready to die, took a breath and said in her heart, i'm ready. But Jesus had other plans for her. Just like he has different plans with us. We think life will go one way, than he changes it in an instant. And thats the point that God raises us off the ground, dusts us off, and tells us to go and sin no more.

Application
Condemnation is something I struggle with. I condemn myself way too much and can't even enjoy life. God didn't want me to get so down on myself but to live a peaceful, joyful life filled with His love and glory. I am my worst critic. I see myself and think the worst, but knowing that God sees me and thinks the best of me only makes me feel better. Knowing that my perfect Father in heaven sees me in a glorious light, makes me want more of Him.

Prayer
God,
I am free in you because you already paid the price of sin. I believe in your mercy and forgiveness. I believe in your love and kindness which I will follow all the days of my life. I love you more than anything else in the world. You are the air i breathe, the water i drink, the food i eat, the smile on my face, the joy in my heart, the love that surrounds me, and the peace that comforts me.

12/17/07 "Faith as Base"

Scripture
2 Peter 1:4-8 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. 5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Observation
Peter was not talking to people who had ever enduring faith. This piece was for those whose faith wanted to get stronger. With faith being the base: goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love will keep you in Gods presence and working for His glory without stopping.

Application
Once we feel unproductive and ineffective thats what we become. Thats what I am. My faith is floating in the air and its like I can't catch it. Its like my old strong self is gone. I can't find it. I feel stuck in a weak body with no way out. I feel choked and I hate feeling this way. I just want to go back of how it was. Breathing, freedom, peaceful.

Prayer
God,
I need your peace today. I am so far away and I know its not you making me feel stuck. Father, catch me in your arms. Catch me from falling so far down that I cant get up any longer. God, make me ready to fight this cold. I know its just a temporary feeling and you have made me a stronger person filled with your power and love. Thank you for always loving me with your grace and holiness. Only you are exalted so high and make the world go round.

12/7/07 "Put your clothes on!"

Scripture
Colossians 3:12-14 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Observation
When Paul says "clothe yourselves" with certain virtues, he isn't saying just put it on your head he is saying wear it like the clothes on your back. When your cold you put a jacket on with gratefulness - that's how those clothes need to be put on. Do that plus forgive one another. Why does he mention forgiveness separately? Because its more important than the others. When you forgive your showing that compassion, kindness, humility, and gentleness, and patience. Then comes love the biggest one of all. Love is bigger than all the virtues. Once you have love the rest is easy to attain.

Application
If I have love I can do all things. I can forgive, I can keep going forward in life. I can live longer with God. Love is the ultimate virtue. Everything else just falls into place. God wants things to go in a pyramid sense in our hearts. 1. Love

Once I have love, I have it all. It will become clear because God is love and once I have Him I have everything I need.

Prayer
My Love,
You hold my heart in your hands. You have my everything. Take care of me. Be there for me, love me, use me, have me. I am yours. I love you more than anything in this world. I would do anything for you. Keep me safe in your arms.

12/5/07 "Its Never over"

Scripture
Ephesians 5:17 Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lords will is

Observation
We live in this life with constant distraction. Everything around us can take our mind off what God wants. Everyday things want to take our mind off the real goal but God still wants us to reach for the right things. There has to be an understanding of Gods will vs. our own will. Our will wants to move us to what we essentially want and keep us away from Gods ultimate plan. When we are foolish we become blind but if we have an understanding of Gods will than it'll be harder to stray away from it.

Application
Reading the Bible, praying, fasting are some of the things that help me understand the will of God but I have to keep on reaching for His will. Everyday is a struggle inside of me. I want to get up and pray and take that time but I don't. And I'm actually destroying my spirit life. No one is hurting it but me. So what I need to do is simple: Be stronger. Keep going for that understanding. Remain hungry and never think its over. With God, its never over.

Prayer
Father,
I never want it to be over. I never want to give up. Never want to surrender. You are the flag that keeps on blowing. The heart that keeps on pumping. You are my ever-lasting battery. You are my everything. All that I need and want is you because you make me whole. You created me and strengthen me . Keep doing it. Don't give up on me...Don't give up.

12/4/07 "Creep"

Scripture
Ephesians 4:22-24 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Observation
Everyone has an old self. Everyone has memories and scars from the past. Everyone has the devil trying to creep up adn make us do what we once did but are trying to get away from. The devil tries to capture everyone by attacking and deceiving and tricking us to go back and do what we liked doing. But what God is trying to teach us is that even though we have the devil trying to kill us, He is making us new and giving us a new way of life. A new way of thinking, a new way of loving, a new way of being ourselves. A way that is full of holines and righteousness, a way where we are not only holy and righteous before people but before God.

Application
Every teaching, no matter the topic is essentially about renewal. Pastors, teachers, apostles, evangelists, and prophets are all trying to get the message across of putting our new self on and being like our creator. They know the struggles but also know what God is capable of.

Prayer
Father,
I know what you are capable of. You have shown your power to me many times and don't stop showing me. Allow me to be that person that you created me to be. Help me to get to my full potential in every area you have gifted me with. Give me the outlets and strength to go out and reach the world for you. You are my head and my authority. Speak to me today and use me for your glory.

12/2/07 Offer Sacrifices

Scripture
Romans 12:1 "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of Gods mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual asct of worship"

Observation
Many people worship God in the physical sense and even the mental sense, but forget the spiritual side. They think if they sing a song, say thanks, lift up their arms, dance, play an instrument thats all the worship they need to do. But God requires much more. He wants the spiritual side. The part where we raise our own selves as sacrifices for Him. The praying diligently, the fasting, the turning off the tv, hanging up the phone and just sit and listen to God part. Doing those things that arent so easy part. And to do it not because we want answers, or not even cause we love God, but because He gave us His mercy and is keeping us here on this earth for that purpose because He keeps us healthy and happy and because He shows us mercy everyday. This is our sacrifice to Him.

Application
I have to lay down my life and be that sacrifice. I worship in every sense but the spiritual. And thats when my life will take the extra step. Once I let go of my fear and worship God spiritually He will answer me spiritually. I'll hear His voice, feel His presence and live that devoted life.

Prayer
God,
I'm sorry for not doing and seeing this sooner. I know Im not perfect and you are which is why I need your help. Help to get up, to renew my mind, to strengthen my body, and to seek you more. I ask that you forgive me for not worshipping you spiritually. My body is yours forever, my mind and soul as well belongs to you. Make me into a new person filled with your power and authority.

Spirits Fire Flame

Scripture
1 Thessalonians 5:16-19 Be joyful always 17 pray continually 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is Gods will for you in Christ Jesus 19 Do not put out the Spirits flame

Observation
Paul knew what hardships were coming and wanted them all to know the basics but yet most important things to know about serving God. Serving God wouldn't come easy and takes work.
-When you are joyful always you're allowing God to shine through you
-When you pray continuously you are showing God you trust Him
-When you give thanks through everything you're telling God thanks for the life He has given you
-When you don't put out the Spirits fire you're allowing the Holy Spirit to guide your life

Application
Paul took all these steps in his life and wants even to this day to take those steps because he knows they work. Those things allowed him to go out and spread the gospel which is all he wanted us to do because that's all God wants from us, but to do it with the right heart and right spirit.

Prayer
Lord,
Give me the right spirit. Help me to get up everyday with a different heart and spirit. I don't want to be lazy in the morning but i want to be refreshed, renewed, rejuvenated for You. I want to hear you more clearly. Know you in a closer way, see you with spiritual eyes. I want more of you always. This world has nothing for me and you have everything.

Bridge the Body

Scripture
1 Corinthians 12: 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

Observation
The body of Christ is everyone who believes in Him working as one entity. No one is greater, no one is left behind. Everyone has a place in His eyes. In His body all are important. They all work together, feel together, fail together, and win together.

Application
It's hard to work in the body of humans because everyone has their own mind and thinking. Not everyone wants to work as a body, some want to take their legs and walk, others want to take their eyes and look elsewhere. While others want to take their hands and work apart. But I want to work together with everyone and be that bridge. I want to be the veins and bones that connects us all together. I finally want to see what the Bible is talking about.

Prayer
God,
bring your body together. Help us to bring our pride down and work for you and not ourselves. Start with me. God, help me to be a better person, wiser person, with ears more open to make smarter choices for you.

Freedom

Scripture
1 Corinthians 8:9 Be careful, that the excercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak

Observation
Paul knew how easy it was for these people to be led astray to do weird things for idols. He wanted to make it clear to them that they had to be careful with their actions cause others were watching and will repeat them, the good and bad.

Application
As a Christian, especially a leader, I have to be that example. I am an even bigger sinner if someone sees me and sins because of what I'm doing. My life is not mine anymore, it's Gods, and if He wants me to use it as an example, I have to be that best example for young girls.

Prayer
Father,
You have chosen me for a reason. And have made me the way I am. You gave me this life and put me in this place. And whether good or bad I thank you because you have remained holy and faithful when I haven't. Help me to be a better person, a stronger person. A person of valor and courage. A person of the Word, authority, and filled with the Holy Spirit. I love you, Amen.

11/07/07 Don't Give Up

Scripture
Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up

Observation
For Paul doing good was something he became accustomed to. Even those who treated him wrong he always showed them love, because he knew that God wanted him that way. The only way to prove God is love is to show God to everyone, no matter how nasty they are.

Application
We reap what we sow. I know for a fact that doing good is hard because I don't always see the benefits. But in my goodness God is preparing something for me because I have always sowed goodness and God will bless me with much goodness. If I keep being nice, kind, patient, and loving God will return it to me even when I don't want to. I will trust in Gods promises for my life.

Prayer
Lord,
I know your promises are real and true. I know that everything I do and have done will not be in vain. Your power, authority, and anointing will come over me because I have remained true in you. I thank you for always believing in me when no one else did. I love you. Amen.

Fire Ball

Scripture
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Observation
Paul was a fire ball. He knew what his purpose was and gave his whole self to it. There was nothing and no one, not even the man who was closest to Jesus could humiliate his cause.

Application
Its hard to be as open as Paul these days with the chance of being embarrassed. But if I no longer live than everything else shouldn't matter. As long as Jesus sees my heart than everyone else can see that and hopefully take an example from it. I want to be like Paul and live wholly and completely for God. I want that wisdom and discernment. But I know that it comes with a price.

Prayer
Lord,
I thank you for loving me and never judging me. Your my heavenly father and the love of my life. Give me the guts to be a difference in this terrible world. I want to shine and be the salt. Work in me.

Commands of His lips

Scripture
Job 23:10-12 But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.
11 My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside. 12 I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.

Observation
Job was secure in himself and his walk with God. He knew he had done nothing wrong but through his testing he would come out on top. He knew his relationship with God and held tight to his heart. He knew what was inside better than anyone else.

Application
People in our lives try to tell us who we are from what they see on the outside. They tend to forget to look on the inside. But since God only looks at the heart, its the heart that needs to be clean and pure. Job was affected externally but he kept his internal strong because thats what God touches and focuses on. When we keep our heart right, then we can be secure in God. I have to focuses on God and my relationship with Him so I can be secure in me. I won't have to worry about anything else because if I'm okay with God, than God makes everything else okay.

Prayer
Lord,
you know my heart and what stays in there. I know I make mistakes and at times make wrong choices, forgive me for my sins, so i don't commit them again. Help me to make the right choices in life, and follow the right path so I don't get distracted, and my life is focused on you. Please let those people who want to ruin me and get in my business just close their mouths and allow me to live my life. You are the most powerful God and the most caring. Father, have mercy on this life everyday. I know I'll remain strong in you because I give you all the power in my life. I love you, Amen.

Take care of my Own

Scripture
Job 19:4 If it is true that I have gone astray, my error remains my concern alone

Observation
Job was tired of people assuming why he was being punished. His friends tried to give their own conclusions and were so hungry for gossip. They wanted to make up their own stories about the truth and tried to feed it to Job and make him believe their lies. Job was an innocent man just trying to live his life according to Gods will until satan decided to take over and thats when he realized who his true friends were.

Application
During tough times is when we realize who is on our side. God wants us to know that He is always on our side trying to protect us and guard us from the sin of man. And there is a time in life where I have to take care of my own. Where my business has to be my business. If I sin than I have to deal with it. If I do wrong I'm the one that has to look God in the face and be judged. Job understood that his life is solely his and he has to pay the consequences. What I do is for me to deal with, not anyone else.

Prayer
Lord,
You know what I do, think, say, and how i act. You know all about me and I am 26 years old and need to start living my life for me. Give me the strength to face anyone who wants to live my life or who wants to ruin it. You gave me a purpose and a plan and I'll keep it until you take me to heaven with you. I will fight for my free will and battle against any enemy forces that want to take it away. You are my God and I am your daughter.

Corruptions Father

Scripture
Job 17:14-15 if I say to corruption, 'You are my father,' and to the worm, 'My mother' or 'My sister,' 15 where then is my hope? Who can see any hope for me?

Observation
Job was near death. God allowed satan to do what he wanted just not to kill him, but thats what was next to what Job went through. To end his life would have brought peace to him and maybe even to his friends. Instead of facing what he was going through he could have given up and faced death in the face and embraced it. He could've tried to runaway from all his issues, but he'd have the same problems, just in a different surrounding.

Application
It's so easy to run and never look back. When we run from our problems we think they'll just go away, but it'll make it worse. Even though confrontation is the hardest thing for me to do because of my own insecurities, I have to do it. Life is all about confrontations and issies I have to deal with. People will always have something to say and will want to get in my face but God wants me to stand with my head held high and proclaim the truth even if others don't believe, I'll believe.

Prayer
God,
I know there are things in my life that i hide from others and I know I can't hide it all from you. Father, forgive me because there are times that i do forget that you are watching me and I do wrong. I'm asking for your grace and mercy because only you can make things right. I know of what to do and not to do, I am human and do make mistakes, help me to be on the right track as much as possible, I'm human; not perfect. I thank you Lord for your love and mercy.

With Weeping Deep Shadows

Scripture
Job 16:6,16 "Yet if I speak, my pain is not relieved; and if I refrain, it does not go away. 16My face is red with weeping, deep shadows ring my eyes;

Observation
Job was going through the hardest time of his life and didn't know how to deal with it. He could've lashed out but that wouldn't change the situation, he also could've stayed completely quiet but that too wouldn't make a difference. He cried and cried till he couldn't cry no more. He gave himself to the Lord and everything he had in him. There was no where to go and nothing to do but stay put.

Application
God takes us through completely trying times. We could have such a peaceful life than BAM! The devil knocks us out. This is my time of true trying of my character. I feel helpless like there is nothing i can do right. If i do the right thing something wrong comes out. If i do the wrong thing my heart feels betrayed. So what do I do? what can I do? Just wait. Wait for the right time, wait for the time that God will do something. That's all i can do. I've given up on defending myself cause that gets me yelling, so I just have to leave it in gods hands because He is the judge, the merciful one, the graceful one.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
You are so good and I thank you for my life. Its not perfect right now and I hate the situation I'm in. It's my fault for not listening to you sooner, but I know that your grace and mercy over me is sufficient. I have learned from my mistakes and choose to move forward. Shut the mouths of the lions and snakes and use me for your glory. I know you know my heart and the honest truth. Let my heart be known to those that truly need to see it.

10/20/07 Strike them down

Scripture
Acts 12:21-23 On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people. 22 They shouted, "This is the voice of a god, not of a man." 23 Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.

observation
Herod must have been talking about powerful things in his address for the people to think e was a god. And Herod must have heard what the people were saying because Herod was not a man of God. When he heard the people his heart must have believed it and maybe even admitted it. I can only speculate about what happened, but God was at his last straw with Herod. He knew that enough was enough and had to cut him down to allow the disciples to keep going on their mission.

Application
Sometimes we want to do big things for God but there are people in high positions that don't want us to keep going. They believe they are more powerful than God and even kill anyone who is against them. It's time for me to stand up and do what God wants me to do. I need to find Gods purpose and stand up to those who don't believe because God will make a way when there seems to be no way.

Prayer
God,
make that way. You are the ultimate and mighty God. You strive to make things better and strike those down who come against you. Make me a stronger person and never allow anyone to think they are better than You. Strike them down to show everyone else your true power and glory.

Fearful Criminal

SCRIPTURE
Luke 23:40-43 But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong." 42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." 43Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

OBSERVATION
The repentant criminal believed in God. He must have grown up with at least some discernment and fear for God for proclaiming his belief on the cross. He must have thought that he had nothing to lose by believing that Jesus was the Messiah. He saw Jesus for who He really was and followed Him during his death. Even though he was a criminal he must have heard some of Jesus' teachings because Jesus talked about the kingdom many times.

APPLICATION
Jesus takes anyone, anytime, anywhere. The criminal was repentant and believed in Christ. He didn't do a long sinners prayer. His heart was sorry and ready to receive. Our hearts need to be the same way. Our hearts need to be open and desperate for Jesus to work in it and fix whats inside of us so when we do go to heaven we'll be going to paradise.

PRAYER
God,
I thank you for your forgiveness. I thank you that you have given me a chance to become a better person. I thank you for loving me so much that you gave your life for me. You suffered and dies so that I may live. You didn't have to, but you did. There is no sacrifice greater than yours. I can't wait to be in paradise with you.

10/4/07 Lose my life

SCRIPTURE
Luke 17:32-33 Remember Lot's wife! 33 Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.

OBSERVATION
Lots wife looked back at the life that was being destroyed. God told them specifically not to look back, but she did and once that happened she became a pillar of salt. When it comes to going back to our past life, God isn't joking. He doesn't want us to preserve once was, but to let it go. Jesus wants to emphasize the importance of losing who we were and gaining who we are in Him. To lose my life I have to let go of past things that hurt me and led me to sin. And accept what God gives me and live a new life.

APPLICATION
God is telling me to lose my old life. If i keep my old friends, my old habits, my old attitudes than how can I say that I am a new creature in Christ? How can I say that I have new blessings every morning if I can't even let go of simple things? If I keep my life than I am only living for myself and telling God He isn't good enough. I want to tell God that He is more than I can imagine and than show Him with my life.

PRAYER
Lord,
Give me the power and strength to lose my life in this world. Show me to move forward in you and to keep going strong in your word. You are my rock and my foundation. You are my everything I have and everything I need. You are the reason I get up and have joy. Lose my life and gain you is all I'll ever want and need.

Refine to Gold

Zechariah 13:9 This third I will bring into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, 'They are my people,' and they will say, 'The Lord is our God.'"

God wants to take a certain amount of people who are willing to change their lives to refine us. He has to put us through fire, then shape us and mold us to something more beautiful. Through the fire we will melt and become soft because it hurts, it burns to go through something so hot. But once we're out of the fire, God wants to see if we'll come out like gold. He uses gold because it is the most extended, shaped, and deformed metal that won't crack. It can undergo a lot without breaking. He wants to see if we will break in the fire or remain strong.

God is definately shaping me at this time. And through it all I have remained gold. I know all of this is not so i can crack in the first moment of heat, but to walk through the fire remembering and declaring who my God is and what He means to me.

God,
Keep molding me and shaping me. I want to be your gold. I want to come out of the fire without a crack. I want to come out stronger than ever. You are my refiner and my Savior; my king and my Father; my friend and my Everything. You created me, molded me, and guided me. I thank you Holy Spirit for always being there adn taking me through this fire without fear or doubt. I love you, Amen.

10/01/07 Keep me Grounded

Luke 14:10-11 But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, 'Friend, move up to a better place.' Then you will be honored in the presence of all your fellow guests. 11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Jesus commands us to be humble. We could be famous, authoritative, but we still have to humble ourselves. Never think more of who you are because God will humiliate us to get us back to that level. Many people with money forget their roots and others can never forget, but we are no lower or higher than they are. God created us all equal and wants us all to be humble before Him and man.

I am a Pastor but a servant first. God called me to work for Him and for His people. Even with all my degrees I have no problem doing labor work because I know where I would be without God and that's my motivation to remain grounded in God.

Lord,
no matter where I am or who I become keep my feet on your foundation. Keep me humble before you and your people. I know who I am in you today, Keep your word burning in my heart and mind. I love you, Amen.

9/30/07 Pour it Out

Luke 13:3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.

The Pharisees were always trying to find something wrong in Jesus, but he was a simple and knowledgeable teacher. He wanted those me to change and even challenged them in their faith. But Jesus' message was for all - You will die if you don't repent. No matter who we are we have to humble ourselves before God and tell Him all.

I've never had a problem repenting before God. Everything just always came pouring out. I want to always be this way. I want to pour my words, my sins, my worries, my guilt on Him because that was the reason He died on the cross. I need to utilize His purpose for my purpose, if not, than I am just like a hypocritical Pharisee.

Lord,
make me always humble before you. Keep me from the hypocrites and Pharisees of this world and give me your compassion and mercy. I want to keep seeing your glory and miracles in my life and inthe life of those around me. I love you, Amen.

9/29/07 Quit Shopping!

Luke 12:22-23,30,34 Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

God knows what we need, even if it those things we toil about. Fashion, style is big in my world. I want to look good and be up to date, but what good is it if I lose God in the process? Gods purpose has nothing to do with what the world has or wants. The world is about destroying, killing and stealing. And Gods is about love, compassion, joy, and mercy. In Gods purpose we don't have to worry. Even though we still do because the world is strong, but its time to stand up and refuse what the world is selling.

Every month i go out and buy things that i truly don't need. Those are all wants of mine and i worry that if i don't get them I'll be missing out but then after i buy them i worry that i spent too much. So whats better? Neither, because I'm worrying too much! The word says not to worry and actually just relax. He knows what i ultimately need and will give it to me.

God,
you have always provided for me and i trust you with my needs and wants. You are my pathway and refuge. I want to stop worrying and start focusing on whats the most important, that's you. Help me to stop being a worry some person and be that free spirited joyful being you created me to be. I love you. Amen

Impossible to Receive

Luke 11:7-8 "Then the one inside answers, 'Don't bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give you anything.' 8 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

There are times that God blesses us because we are His children. he gives us things because He loves us and wants our desires met. Then there are other times that He blesses us simply because we asked. We want things but we never ask because we think its impossible to receive. But God, here is telling us just because we have the boldness to ask, for anything, at any hour, He will give it to us.

God wants me to have the desires of my heart. And He knows all the desires, He just wants to hear it from me. He wants me to stand up for what I want and simply ask Him. When I do that He'll know the measure of how much I want it and not only give me that one thing but even more, as much as I need. Sometimes our wants are less than what we need and we only ask for the minimum but God wants to give the maximum.

Lord,
give me the maximum. My desire is for you to put my life in order and to give me my desires. I want my heart to feel whole again with love and compassion. Allow me to feel you and hear you louder than ever. God I want to see a change in myself and in the lives of those around me. Let the change be fast and noticeable. Be clear with me Lord and show me Your glory. I love you. Amen.

9/27/07 Shake Me

Haggai 2:4c-7,9 'and work. For I am with you,' declares the Lord Almighty. 5 'This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.' 6
"This is what the Lord Almighty says: 'In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. 7 I will shake all nations, and the desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,' says the Lord Almighty. 9'The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,' says the Lord Almighty. 'And in this place I will grant peace,' declares the Lord Almighty."

For God to shake our world and put it back in better order, we have to work at it. When we work, we have to be strong and patient and believe that God is going to rock us (our lives, the church, ministry) so hard that we will never be the same. God will impart His glory and peace over us but before He does, He has to shake us up. Be fore anything great comes the bad has to be filtered out. Eypt was the worst situation for the Israelites and they thought they would never get out but they had to endure that time to enjoy the land filled with milk and honey.

God doesnt want us to go throught Egypt but we all have to. Life is not full of roses, but its full of reality. God is being real with us and He is going to shake me left and right before His glory and peace fills me again. This is the time of trials and the time of testing my faith.

Lord, shake me. Move me. Change me. Rock my existence so I can get closer to you. I know its easier said than done, but give me the strength to go through anything that is put in front of me. Help me go throuhg it quickly so I can enjoy You even more than ever. I love you. Amen.

My Heart will Grow

Luke 8:15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

Only God knows our hearts. ANd he knows which heart is led by Him or by the enemy. When there is a heart led by Him than it is a heart that lives according to the Word. When a heart lives by the Word than there will be fruit growing from it.

God wants my heart to grow fruit. He wants me to live by the fruits of the Spirit. When I live by His Word my crop will be love, joy, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, patience, etc. My heart has to be aligned with the Spirit to be aligned with God.

Father,
search my heart today. This is a time when I most need your help. I ask that you produce good crop in me that others can see and I can stop trying to prove myself. And help chnage the hearts of others. I love you, Amen.

9/24/07 I Trust You

Psalm 84:11-12 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. 12 O Lord Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.

God does many things. He is the one who guides us and protects us. he is the one who holds us up and brings us justice. God is Lord over all and we are to trust Him with all. All in our lives. All in our hears, All in His hands.

When I trust in God with my whole heart than life will bring the blessing. It is only when everything I do is put in His control will He bless it. Only then will He show me that honor and favor and shield.

God,
my trust in put directly in your hands. I want honor and favor and blessings. I want your power to shine like the sun and I need your shield from the works of the enemy. Lord, you know my heart, reveal it to others and show them who I really am and you really are for me. I love you, Amen

9/20/07 No wounds

Daniel 6:22-23 My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king." 23 The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

Daniel was a young guy that both man and God trusted. But even the most noble get accused of wrong doing. Even the most powerful can feel scared in the times of trials. It doesn't say how Daniel felt but I can imagine how he felt when he saw the lions. But his eyes were not focused on the earthly fears but on what God can do for him. Daniel looked at the supernatural world and lived there. His focus was on the things of God, not on the world.

When I trust in God, I will go through trials in life. But in the end if my trust is still in God, no would will be found on me. The lions will come and try to sneak around me then pounce on my body. But God will shut their mouths and bring me out with no wounds. My life has to be spent in the supernatural o be able to see that part of my future. God wants to rescue me from the mouths of the lions.

Father,
Take me out of the lions den. I trust that you will shut the mouths of each lion and will take me out with out wounds. Daniel trusted you and I trust you. Lord. search my heart adn make it new. Make it the way of a noble and righteous person in your sight. Keep me safe in your arms and allow me to come out stronger than ever before.

9/19/07 As a Woman

Luke 2:19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

God chose Mary for a specific reason to carry Jesus. She was a woman who didn't take things for granted and was wise with her words. She put things in her heart and treasured all that God gave to her.

As a woman, to be chosen by God is a huge honor. God knows what he's doing when He chooses specific people. Mary was no exception. She was a woman of obedience, faith, wisdom, and stature. God wants righteous people that will treasure what He's given them.

Lord,
make me into a Mary. I want to be a different woman that is chosen by what I can give. You chose me God and I am grateful. Thank You. I love you, Amen.

9/18/07 Say Yes!

Luke 1:38 I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.

Mary was young and most likely a bit scared but she knew her place with God. She believed, trusted, and loved Him with her whole heart/ She knew His will was greater than hers which is why she didn't doubt like Zechariah.

My faith and hope has to be like Marys. To not question or doubt in the least bit even when there is fear involved. God created me to stand firm on His word and promises with no doubt, fear, or trembling.

God,
you created me into a strong woman that is filled with your spirit and truth. I trust in your will for my life and say yes to everything you have for me. Be clear with me because I need to know you better. I am your daughter. I love you, Amen.

9/13/07 Desires Met

Proverbs 13:19 A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil.

God enjoys it when our desires are me. He likes to do things in HIs time even if that means making us wait. But God wants to see what we will do and how we will react during our wait.

God makes us wait for things for certain reasons. One is to show our true character. Am I willing to stick it out or will I give up in the first trial? Another reason is to see if that thing is worth waiting for. God brings things, wants in our lives to expose our hearts and true selves.

Lord,
show me how to wait graciously. I can go and live the world life but I know I would be miserable without oyou. Stay close to me and guide me on the right path. Show me where to go and what to do. I love you. Amen

9/11/07 No Compromise

Daniel 1:5,17 The king assigned them a daily amount of food and wine from the king's table. They were to be trained for three years, and after that they were to enter the king's service. 17 To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.

The knig knew how to train soilders and needed the sufficient time to do it. He knew what to feed them, what physical excercises they had to do. How to build them up but Daniel and his 3 friends knew better. They worshipped God and didn't want to compromise themselves for the world.

When I comrpomise myself for the world I become less of a person. God can't use me and give me what He has in store for me. I need to stand for what I believe in and make sure I do it right. When I do things right before God than He will give me over and above what I have or need.

God, give me the strength and words to stand up for you. I never want to defile your word or law in my life. Help me to know you better and close to my heart. I need your power in my life everyday to make the right choices and to follow the right path. Make things clear to me in every area of my life.

It is you

Lamentations 3:22-27. 30-32, 35-36, 58-59
Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassion never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him." 25 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; 26 it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. 27 It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young. 30 Let him offer his cheek to one who would strike him, and let him be filled with disgrace. 31 For men are not cast off by the Lord forever. 32 Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. 35 to deny a man his rights before the Most High, 36 to deprive a man of justice-- would not the Lord see such things? 58 O Lord, you took up my case; you redeemed my life. 59 You have seen, O Lord, the wrong done to me. Uphold my cause!

Jeremiah wrote this lament b/c he couldn't take it anymore. He couldn't pretend to be strong any longer. Jeremiah was human and felt a desperation to cry out to God and confess what was truly going on inside of Him. He was also a man of hope. Hope for a better future. A man of waiting for the vengeance of God through his affliction.

Jeremiah is an example for me to follow. In the negative he saw the promise of God. He knew the power of God. The hope of God. The compassion of God. The mercy of God. God will put everything in order as He did 2000+ years ago. In my little life, God will and is paying attention to the details. My hope and trust has to be in God in the good and bad. Especially the bad.

Father,
you know my heart and I know your promises. My heart and everything in it is in your hands. Keep it safe adn I will wait on you and your timing. I will keep following you and waiting for a better tomorrow. You are my God and my love. It is you Always.

9/7/07 My all in all

Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.

The devil wants to always point fingers. He is mad that we have the salvation of Christ and decide to live in this holy way. He tries to bring us down so we can kill ourselves off. And even though we think God is not listening or even there, His time to hurl the back to hell is perfect and strategic.

My power is in Christ. I believe and live in the salvation that is in me. I have the authority of Christ and choose to live the Godly life ad the enemy is mad. God makes me go through things for a purpose and I choose to remain surprised each day b/c God will hurl the enemy out of my path when it most hurts him.

Lord,
I trust un your timing. I can only see with my human eyes but I know there is more going on spiritually. I hold on to your promises and word and know you will never leave me nor forsake me. You truly are my all in all.

9/6/07 Cut me Down

Ezekiel 31:10-12 "'Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because it towered on high, lifting its top above the thick foliage, and because it was proud of its height, 11I handed it over to the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with according to its wickedness. I cast it aside, 12and the most ruthless of foreign nations cut it down and left it. Its boughs fell on the mountains and in all the valleys; its branches lay broken in all the ravines of the land. All the nations of the earth came out from under its shade and left it.

God makes it clear that He is looking at everything and everyone. He is looking at our hearts and attitudes. And if I am not right and think too highly of myself He will cut me right down. I believe His mercy is greater that in was in the OT, but His thoughts on pride haven't changed.

No matter what position I'm in or who my name is, there is always someone bigger than me. If I raise myself up then God will tear me down b/c He is the one who wants to lift us up and make us big. Its not from our own efforts, its from Him.

God,
keep me humble before you. I want to remain submitted to you and your word. Implant it in my mind and heart so I can share it with all people and show them your great power adn work on this earth. Than you for your hand of mercy and grace.

9/5/07 My Examiner

Proverbs 5:21
For a man's ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all his paths.

God knows where I'm going. He knows where I've been and how I got there. He knows how I'll get to my future and He doesn't just look, He examines and makes sure its right.

I can't trick God or think left and go right. My ways are before Him and He is examining them very carefully. Whatever path I choose, my heart needs to be right b/c then the blessings will come.

Father,
you are my examiner. Search me and take out whats wrong. Use me for good purposes and rebuke my enemies. Take care of your daughter for I always need your help. I love you. Amen

I'm not a Waste

Revelation 9:6 During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.

The end times will be horrific for those that don't turn to God. Some people think life right now is hard enough and they kill themselves so easily. But God will not allow people to escape their disbelief. Even after many signs people still won't believe, but God will keep trying and make them face their disbelief and won't allow them to sin by killing themselves.

Life can be extremely hard. So many things can happen at once which makes us feel that life isn't worth it. I live for Him and that gives me motive enough to keep going and never give up. I don't want to come to a point in life where i just want to give up on everything. I find that to be a waste. And my life is not a waste. God gives me the strength and might to keep going and never feel like giving up on tomorrow. Tomorrow will always be better than today.

Father,
You give me tomorrow. Whether its here on earth or with you in heaven. I won't give up on this life. You gave it to me and I will take it as a gift. You are my creator and I am your child. I will remain in faith to you and believing in yur word and love. Thank you for all you have given me. I love you. Amen.

His Promises

Revelation 7:16-17 Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. 17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

When we accept God, not only will He be with us in heaven but also on earth. What i need will not be only givin to me in heaven but on earth in abundance. God will protect me and guide me and use me on this terrible earth full of sin and perversion. I will no longer have to suffer.

God has promised me a better life. A life full of joy and comfort. He has promised that I no longer have to suffer. I no longer have to cry or hunger or thirst for anything cause He will give it to me. I will no longer burn in this hot earth, but will be shaded by His love and mercy.

Lord,
I need your direction. Your way needs to be clear to me. I don't know where to go anymore and all I want is peace. The world is gaining up on me and i just need you to intervene in the biggest way possible. Get involved, Get in the middle. BE my solution. I will remian seeking you. Forever. I love you. Amen.

8/29/07 "10x's more than before"

Revelation 2:19 I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.

God was going through the churches and affirming them but also rebuking them. God sees the true wrong and true right in His people. As a Father, God needs to treat us the same btu make sure we know what we need to change in the body because we could bring disease into the body.

God knows my heart and all that i do. He knows that today i work 10x's more than i did ever in my walk with Him. I keep going through the good and bad times believeing and having large faith that He will never let me down in my life and what i desire.

Father,
You are the only one that knows what really goes through my life and my heart. I trust in you for everything and i believe that you have everything under control and no matter what i trust in you. I love you. AMen.

8/23/07 "Tainted Love"

1 John 4:7-8,11-12,18
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Its so easy to say "i love you" but its hard to mean it. God implanted love in us when He entered our hearts but the world is full of mistrust, hate, fear, pride, etc. and we become tainted with all its lies. It gets so bad that Christians start pointing fingers at their brothers and sisters and puts Gods love aside. Love is supposed to complete us and if anyone is not complete with that love they are not complete in God.

I want to love more. I have love and I share it in different ways but I want more love. I want to trust more in people and in God. I want to stop being afraid of the flesh because that means i trust in it and I don't.

God,
you are love and you are in me. So give me more of you. Take out anything the world wants to stir in me. I put my eyes on you and lead me on your path. You are in charge of my life and I leave it all in your hands. I love you. Amen.

More Love

1 John 3:10-11;21-22 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother. 11This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
21Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

Our hearts have to be right before God with love. Love for our neighbors. That love will take us to a place where people could see we are children of God and with that love anything we ask will be ours. As well as seeing the love in us, others can see how much we love Christ by what He is doing in us.

Its easy to determine if someone loves God or not if I have discernment or wisdom. But what if I don't? Than how can I tell? God makes it easy for me by seeing peoples actions. See if they really love their brother and if they are a child of God or not.

God, I want to only surround myself with people that I can learn from and help. Give me that strong discernment to see who is your child or not. I want to love my brothers and sisters as you love them. Give me more love and compassion because I know that I need it.

Anointing Fall on Me

1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him.

Gods anointing teaches us everything we need to know about Him. His anointing doesn't come and go, it stays because that is what God uses to speak to us. With the anointing the Holy Spirit can work and speak to me directly because I am willing and open for Him.

God will continuously speak to me if I keep on receiving His anointing. I have His anointing already and He is being clear to me by instructing me on the things of life. If i remain in Him the anointing remains fresh. It won't leave me, it just may get old and untouched.

Lord,
remain in me. remain instructing and speaking to me. With your love and mercy I remain in you. Draw me closer to you and always speak clearly to me. I want to hear your voice and live by your word. Let your anointing fall on me always.

Do you love me?

John 21:15-17 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." 16Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep." 17The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my sheep."

Jesus wanted to make sure that Peter and the rest of the disciples knew what it was to love Christ. It wasn't to die for Him or to do something crazy, but all He wanted them to do was to: 1. Feed His sheep - proclaim the gospel so all could hear and 2.Take care of His sheep

As a leader and Pastor these are the two things I have to focus on. This is what my ministry entails. God is calling me to do these things and do it with all my heart, mind, and soul. This has to be a part of me, a part of my daily walk, to take care of these people spiritually.

God, I want to change this part of me. I want this to be me. I want to feed and take care of the sheep. You have called me to do that, so give me the strength to keep going and being who you've called me to be.

I want to be Blessed

Psalm 112:1-3,7-8
Praise the Lord, Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in his commands. 2His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. 3Wealth and riches are in his house and his righteousness endures forever.
7He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. 8His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.

Following and listening to God is hard when voices on the earth are telling me otherwise. But God promises me here that I will be blessed. And not only me but also my children and I will be rich on earth and filled with righteousness. If i take trust in Him that I will also be strong within myself. I will be confident in Gods word and will be ahead of my enemies.

God makes many promises. And He is the only one that can keep each of them. But i have to do one little thing. I have to trust in God and once I do all my fears will pass away because its not me taking care of them, its Him.

God, I want to trust you with all my heart and soul. I put all my fears and desires in your hands. I want to be blessed by you and refuse any curse over my life. My strength lies in you and not the flesh. i thank you for being the powerful God you are. I love you, Amen.

8/15/07 "Shout it out"

Jeremiah 20:9 But if I say, "I will not mention him or speak any more in his name, his word in in my hear like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed I cannot."

Holding Gods word in is not an option. Even if i wanted to hide Christ, its not possible for me. God has consumed me, all of me and that cannot be silent, nor was it silent in Jeremiah. No matter how weary or doubtful he was about prophesying and how fearful he was about his enemies, he spoke. He opened his mouth and allowed God to work through Him.

I have doubts, fears, wearies and questions about God, ministry, His power and will over my life. But it is impossible for me to stay silent about God. It is me and who I am. God has made me His and when I open my mouth. Its the words of the Lord that come out.

Lord, You are in me and with all my junk. I ask that you remain in me. You know my deepest desires in my heart and all my fears but with all that, take it and make it my strength. Every time I open my mouth, make them your words and not mine. I love you. Amen

8/14/07 "Flesh Stinks"

Jeremiah 17:5-6 This is what the Lord says, "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord. 6He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives

God will curse me if I don't trust in Him. My flesh will always fail me, but God is always there. If I don't trust in Him, my life will be dry always looking for the next waterfall that is not there

My life has to be entrusted in the hand and will of God. No matter how scared or fearful I am of man. My life has to be lived by God. Flesh and man, no matter who they are, is merely flesh. But God is the One who puts my life in order and leads me to the right path when man tries to lead me to his path.

Lord, Only you truly know whats in my heart and the things I desire. Keep my eyes and ears focused only on you and make me attentive to you. You are my God, my Father, and my King. Guide me to the right path. Give me strength through criticisms of man and the power to keep going in your will and path for my life. You are the true God and Lord of my life. I love you. Amen

Wisdom

Proverbs 9:10-12 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 11 For through me your days will be many, and years will be added to your life. 12 If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer."

-There are many things in life that we need that are not materialistic
-We need wisdom to go throughout life, we also need discernment and a conscience
-God brings wisdom into our lives only when we fear Him
-When we revere God and exalt Him and do everything for His glory and might than wisdom will start in our lives
-We have to fear God because that means we trust Him and when we trust Him than we can see things for what they are not
-wisdom is the ability to discern inner qualities and relationships...when we do this than we can know who we are and who we spend our time with
-with wisdom we can make the right choices in our lives and live the life according to Gods will and not our own
-Wisdom is not a bad thing, God says that He will reward the wise, b/c once we make the right decisions than our lives will be joyful and peaceful
-Peace brings a long life because we are not worried about anything
-All our trust goes into God and we don't doubt in Him

-Wisdom brings understanding which brings trust which brings peace

God,
Thank you for bringing wisdom into my life. I can begin to make the right choices because wisdom is in me and start living in peace. You are a peaceful God and I love you because you made me this way. Thank you for your constant love and joy and in my heart that you bring. You are my God and I can't shouting and exalting your name on high. I love you, Amen.

I know my Sheep

John 10:9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.
v.14 I am the good Shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me

-Jesus was talking to the people who didn't believe that He was the Messiah
-They didn't care they just wanted a reason to kill Him because of everything He was saying
-Jesus knew who He was and needed to let the people know, whether they believed Him or not
-People needed to know how to get to the Father and the only easy was through Jesus
-Jesus was saying this in a metaphorical way, that they had to believe in the Son to get to the Father
-That's what the people didn't understand because it was something new that they were learning, and some people didn't want to accept it, b/c they liked their old way of living

-With Jesus everything is new
-He brought a new law, covenant and a new way of living
-A way of living that is tough at times, but its worth it
-A way of living that includes prayer, fasting, loving, compassion, forgiveness, joy - many things that we are not used to
-Jesus wants us to live a life that is opposite of the world - the world is full of hate, violence, & judgement - But living like Jesus means living out of the norm

-If Jesus is the gate and the Shepherd and i need to know where that gate is and i have to get to know the Shepherd
-I have to find the gate by reading the word and knowing what it says and means
-I have to find the Shepherd by knowing Him personally and intimately
-I need to talk to Jesus more than anyone, and that it a hard task...b/c Jesus is not physically in front of me - But that's also where my faith comes in
-I have to have faith that i can see Jesus physically and have an intimate relationship with Him
-My biggest weakness is prayer, even though i want to do it, I don't, but God still has incredible mercy over my life and every time i get into prayer I can feel His presence
-I can feel His presence over me all the time
-I bring Jesus with me everywhere b/c without His guidance I am lost

God,
Help me to be a better person and sheep. I want to find the gate and know the edges and the handle. I want to know the shepherd intimately where i can speak to you and feel you right away. I want to know you everyday and I know I have failed so many times in that area, Father don't give up on me. And I know I have said that many times, I don't want to fail you, I don't want to reject you, I don't want to lose my faith in you. You have all the answers and have all the love, which is why I want to give my all to you. To seek you and know you.

Make me Right

John 8:10-11 Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" 11"No one, sir" she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."

-Even in this classic Bible story of forgiveness God makes His point very clear
-We have no right, whatsoever, to condemn or judge anyone else
-We are all sinners, have made bad choices, gone the wrong route, and yet God still forgives us
-Its as easy as getting on our knees and asking for forgiveness
-Mary stood before everyone with her sin in front of her, being confronted in front of all and she remained standing
-She must have been ashamed but at the same time making excuses in her head about why she was doing what she was doing
-Mary is a classic Bible figure of true forgiveness and repentance

-So many things in my life have gone on and sometimes i feel guilty about my past and even my present at times
-I feel like i do the wrong things and when i do them or even think about them i feel horrible
-I feel like the worst person in the world
-I feel like my bad decisions are the reason many things are not given to me or sometimes I feel that God is punishing me for my wrong doings
-But I also know that is just the enemy wanting me to stay behind, he doesn't want me to excel in the things of God because that means more souls would be saved
-He wants me to be lazy and be the worldly single girl
-He wants me to quit my job and step away from God
-He wants me to lie about my insides and hode myself from everyone
-All those things i'm fighting against on my inside are from the enemy because God doesn't make me struggle...He gives me peace
-God is a God of peace and love, and it is easy for Him to forgive because He loves me
-He created me out of love and compassion and that is how i will remain living

God,
I need your guidance God. I need to know you better and hear your voice. Lord, forgive me for my sins and my gulty feelings because i know they are not from You. I know that all you do is bring peace, joy, and love into my life and thats all i want to feel. I want anything from the enemy that is hindering my life to leave my body this instant. You are a God of forgiveness, and I ask you for forgiveness right now. Forgiveness for my thoughts, for my heart, and for my body. Make me right before you Lord.

Remain in You

John 3: 5-7 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.'

-So many people have there different versions of getting into heaven.
-They all want to feel good about themselves and about their deeds...deeds will not get us next to Jesus
-Deeds will not bring me to the feet of Jesus
-To truly go to heaven I have to be born of the Spirit and the water
-There are 2 baptisms 1. Water 2.Spirit
-The 1st baptism is to symbolize the forgiveness of sins (flesh sins) - we were born of the flesh and this symbolizes us stepping away from the things of the flesh
-The 2nd baptism in the Spirit is speaking in tongues, receiving the Holy Spirit in our lives and symbolizes stepping into the things of the Spirit
-To go to heaven we have to be Spirit filled b/c it is a place of Spirituality and Spirit worship and Spirit living
-If I am not Spirit filled or living in the Spirit I cannot live among those people

John 3:20-21 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God

-When we are in the light, we are in the Spirit
-The darkness hates the spirit because it exposes all that we are trying to hide
-When we are filled with Spirit there is nothing to hide, we don't live in the darkness
-We live in the truth because the truth sets us free and we want to be free to live a happy life

John 3:30-31 He must become greater; I must become less. 31The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all.

-My Spirit must become greater than my flesh
-Everything from the spirit is greater than things on this earth
-I have to live that way, that my spirit is greater and seeking those things of the spirit
-My flesh must be buried and kept under because it won't stop trying to overrule my spirit
-But if i remain in the spirit than the spirit will remain stronger and the light will constantly shine in my life


God,
Keep my light shining. I don't want to live in the flesh any more. The world wants to take me over and use me for its glory but i know i may fail at times, but know that my dedication remains in you. I was baptized in water and spirit therefore i want to be in you. I didn't do those things because i had to but because i wanted to. I want to be with you, I want to remain in you and worship you with all that i have and all that i am. You know my heart Lord, look in it because you will find that desire and passion to stay at your side and at your feet. I love you. Amen

Something Beautiful Can Happen

John 2:3-9b When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to Him, "They have no more wine." 4"Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied, "My time has not yet come." 5His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you." 6Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. 7Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. 8Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so 9and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.

OBSERVATION:
-Mary knew the power that Jesus had, and the disciples were trying to figure out this power that Jesus had
-Jesus also knew the power He had but was not ready to show the people
-I think He was looking for the perfect time and a better miracle to show the people of His authority
-When Jesus told his mother "why do you involve me?" Is to show that no matter what generation it is mothers are mothers
-Mary was so proud of her son ans wanted just the best for Him, she wanted Him to fix the problem, even the problem of changing water into wine
-I believe that Jesus would much rather had raised someone from the dead or healed a sick person, which is why He may have gotten annoyed with His mom
-But as a good son, He made the miracle happen, He knew that He could do it, that was something easy compared to what He knew He had to go through in the future
-Jesus wanted to be obedient, Honor his mother, which is why He did this miracle, out of obligation and respect for his mom
-And even though this was a small miracle compared to His others, it was still important because after this his disciples put their faith in Him, they believed after his simply changing water into wine, imagine their faith when He raised people from the dead, made the blind see, healed the sick, etc.
-Jesus did every miracle for a reason, He didn't just heal everyone because He knew He could do it, in every miracle there was a lesson to be learned
-He wanted people to learn from the faith of others, the compassion of others, the love that others had for Him

APPLICATION
-Even today Jesus wants us to learn from His miracles
-We shouldn't do everything because of obligation or respect, but sometimes we do, and Jesus proves here that its okay to do that
-Its OK to do things when the time is not right, but of course it depends what that thing is
-If you are a new follower of Christ and you feel your not ready to preach the Word, but your in a situation where you can...God wants you to
-God puts us in certain situations with certain people to break us out of the norm, He doesn't want us to be comfortable
-Because when we do things that are out of the norm something beautiful can happen
-Someone can get saved and change the world
-Someone can forgive or have compassion or help others
-Its not about ability but about availability - Jesus wasn't ready but He was available
-He knew He could do it, and even if He didn't want to at the time, He did

PRAYER
God,
Make me available to you and your word. Make me available to do your work and your will. I want to hear your voice and know when you are speaking to me. I want to know that it is you and obey you. Lord, I want to do things for you because I love you and because I want to. I don't want to do things out of obligation or respect to you, but because I have that drive and passion to do what you ask. Help me to do what you want me to do and not what the world asks of me. Help me hear your voice.

Forever Light

Isaiah 60:1-2 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. 2See darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
v.19-20 The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your glory. 20Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end.

-Knowing that this specific word was written for the Israelites, God has spoken to me through this
-Isaiah was prophesying to the Israelites telling them that it was there time, that all their afflictions will be substitued for compassion
-Their sins will be covered with grace and mercy
-That no matter how dark this world gets the light will shine not through earthly things but through God
-Gods glory will be the light that shines through them, Its His love that helps guide them
-They will no longer be the people that are known for their sufferings, but they will be now known for the people who have Gods light upon them, His forever light

-God is telling me the same thing...I know that I have had a good life, nothing too bad has happened to me, but that doesn't mean that I don't have problems inside - it doesn't mean i don't struggle
-Everyday is a struggle for me a battle on the inside in my spirit, to do certain things or not to do them
-Many times my flesh wins and my spirit takes a back seat, but God is telling me today that the Spirit is going to win
-That i just have to keep fighting because His light is upon me and I have to keep allowing that light to remain over me
-I will not live by the light of the sun anymore, My life will not be led by the light of the world - but by the light of God - that light He puts over me
-This world is filled with filth, junk, perversion, but God wants to take me out of that and make me different
-He is putting His heavenly light on me and taking out all my pains, hurts, sorrows, and worries in His hand

Father,
I thank you for guiding me. For taking me in your hand and helping me get rid of my worries, pains, sorrows, and hurts. That light that shines through me and on me is you. Only you can make me feel so good and precious. Only you can make me feel worthy of living and being in your family. Only you God can redeem me and give me everlasting salvation. Only you God...Only you. I love you. Amen.

Holy Legacy

Isaiah 53:2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him
-Isaiah was talking about Jesus, he was a prophet and was talking about the coming Messiah
-Isaiah wanted the people to know that Jesus was not coming on a white horse with shiny blue eyes, clear light bright skin, with a chiseled body and a Colgate smile
-But sad to say that the people didn't listen to Isaiah when Jesus came, they didn't want to believe that Jesus was the Messiah because He was just like them
-He looked like them, talked like them, even walked like them
-They wanted something more, but forgot this verse, they read and looked over just what they wanted to

v.3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not
-Jesus knew the meaning of hurt, He knew what it was like to lose friends, family, to be betrayed (i don't think Judas was the first to betray him)
-Jesus went through what humans go through
-He knew pain, hurt, hate, He knew what we felt and still feel
-He knows our hearts because He had one just like it, he hears them beating...He remembers the beating, the feelings, emotions that we have
-But we didn't care about that, we still don't care about that...its not our first concern
-He went through it and i go through the days like nothing ever happened
-He was spat on, kicked, bruised and i cry over a paper cut
-I can't change over night, God doesn't expect me to, He doesn't even expect me to cry over my failures...but He expects me to own up to them, not lie about them, go before Him and admit it.
-Admit those things and tell Him with my heart

v.4 Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted. 5But He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by His wounds we are healed
-We made Jesus suffer
-We brought that pain upon Him
-We kicked Him, bruised Him, tore Him to pieces, we....I
-I did it..I am owning up to it, It was ME!
-I don't know if i would have been like Mary Magdalene at his feet crying not being able to watch, or even that woman who gave Him water on His way to Calvary or if i would be one of those who would just stare with a blank face numb to what was really going on
-I can't imagine what it was like, But i can see today, what i live today and how i would react today if that happened
- i don't want to be naive and stupid
-I don't want to live blindly, I can't....i won't

v.6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all
-God gave Him our rebellion
-My stupid back talk, and dishonoring behavior
-My bad thoughts and mean heart
-My laziness and pridefulness
-My selfishness and cruelty
-God gave it all to Him....

v.7He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. 8By oppression and judgement he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken. 9He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth
-He was quiet
-Taking each step in stride knowing each movement was one closer to His death, to His torture, to what He dreaded doing
-He knew that all those dreams that He may have had would never come true
-He probably saw loving couples that truly loved one another, and maybe dreamed of one day......maybe
-But that was all gone, He would never have an heir, never have a human legacy...But to Jesus does that even matter?
-His legacy is much more powerful b/c its not human, b/c its divine and holy
-He died a human death and lived a human life but left a holy legacy and a divine salvation

God,
Thank you for your son. You brought Him on this earth for a purpose, to save us. He died a thousand deaths in His heart but Lived then and still lives on today. You are my God and I am your people. Use me for your glory power and might. I love you. Amen.

Connects to Love

2 Peter 1:5-9 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But if anyone does not have them, he is near-sighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.

-Everything has a virtue connected to...if you do this, make sure this is connected to it
-Because its better to have more virtues than only one
-If you have faith, connect goodness to it...if you want to have faith do good works with that faith "faith w/out deeds is dead"
-if you want goodness connect knowledge to it...Make sure you know why you are doing good things..don't do them just to show a mask or be a hypocrite, do it because you want to because your heart lives that's way....let goodness live in your mind so your mind can be clear of evil thoughts and actions...so goodness can constantly live in your heart
-with knowledge comes self-control, when you know things, you'll know the difference between right and wrong....when you know Gods law and what He commands than you will know that the flesh has to be weaker than the Spirit, when the Spirit is stronger it is easier to control the flesh, therefore making it easier to walk away from temptation and everything the enemy wants to put in front of you
-with self-control comes perseverance....if you have self-control you can move forward to your goal....self-control helps you move away from all your distractions in life and lets you push through the walls, the chains, everything the enemy wants to throw at you...
-with perseverance comes godliness....God did everything for us and He could have given up and thrown in the towel...He could have wiped us out like He did in Noah's time, but He kept His word and persevered with this generation..when we push through and keep going in the will of God, we become like God. God never gives up, He never leaves us, He never stops having faith in us, and that's how we need to be with Him and with ourselves....when we push through those hard times we are showing Godly characteristics
-with godliness comes brotherly kindness...God loves everyone...no matter who they are or what they have done, and when we have godliness we be kind to all people, no matter what...God has forgiveness all over Him and that's the quality we need to take from Him. Forgiveness, to our brothers and sisters, because that's the true meaning of kindness
-with brotherly kindness comes love. When we are kind to one another because we want to be that's when love shows up...love is truly showing it through God...God is love, and when we are kind to strangers they will see a difference in us because that difference is God
-God connects it all together to Him, It all connects to love

Lord,
everything you are and everything you've made connects down to you. Its all about love. Loving you, loving your creations, loving everything in this world. You made it all and loved it all. Thank you for creating it all for us. So we can live in the vastness of your glory. I love you. Amen.

Rebels to Gods cause

Isaiah 46:3-4 Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all you who remain of the house of Israel, you whom I have upheld since you were conceived, and have carried since your birth. 4Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you, I have made you and i will carry you; I will sustain you and i will rescue you.
v.8-9 Remember this, fix it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels. 9Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me
1 Peter 5:8 Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

-God is forever. That is His name. Always and forever
-He has been here and will remain here
-He is God above any god, He is Lord over all Lords, He is king over all kings, He is everything above all else
-Isaiah is talking to all those who believe and continue to believe
-God created us and remains with us, we will birth and perish and when we perish we will live with Him forever
-He will sustain us on earth and in heaven
-But we are humans, we are rebels to Gods cause...we sin, we fall, we fail, we lie, we kill, we steal, we forget, we do it all...everything against God
-we are rebellious beings BUT God wants us only to remember His word, because it is powerful enough to change lives
-God doesn't say "you rebels, go change your lives or I'll kill you one by one and torture you"...no He says "you rebels, Remember this....fix this in your mind..."
-God has ultimate faith...and not only in Himself but in us and in His word...faith that His word will penetrate into our own hearts and change us forever
-Gods command for us is to Remember....Remember that He is God and what He has done in the past...not for us to remember our past sins and failures, but His past accomplishments, His past successes, His past glories
-But if we don't remember than the enemy will use that selfishness in us and make us into his people
-The enemy wants to take Gods word and use it in a negative way, a way where people will get confused and just give up
-He is a lion waiting behind the bush to pounce on us...on me

-I have to remember God and His word...His promises....His everything for me
-God has given me a calling and His will for me to work with and if i forget for one second that lion will come out of hiding to jump on me and suffocate me
-Lions suffocate their prey, make them weak, tear them apart bit by bit
-The devil wants to tear me apart, starting with my mind...because the mind is weak, than going for my heart...if I'm not thinking its easy to get to the central part of a person
-The devil is slick but God is powerful
-The devil is smart but God has authority
-I am human but God is divine and the devil is stupid
-I will be a rebel...but a rebel to the world, a rebel to the devils cause, a rebel to anything against God
-I will be a servant of God and follow Him forever

Father,
I thank you for your word and faith in me. I know that without you believing in me it would be way too hard to do anything in this world. I would be lost without you. i want to reach out to you and seek you more, find you more. God, forgive me for not spending more time with you, you told me you want to speak to me more, and i still remember that day. I don't want to disappoint you, I don't want to fail you or forsake you. I will not take you for granted. Give me some more time. I don't want to let you down. Hear my heart, its beating for you.

Stop Punishing Myself

Isaiah 43:18-19a-b Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
v.25 I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more
1 Peter 4:3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what the pagans choose to do-living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.
v.8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins
Isaiah 43:10-11 You are my witnesses, declares the Lord, and my servant whom i have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that i am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. 11I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior.

- Isaiah and Peter were in sync when they wrote these books. They both knew that God wanted to forget our sins and it was time for us to let those things go
-As human beings and sinners it is hard for us (at least for me) to forget those horrible things i have done
-even if i have done things that's not as bad to other people, to me it is disobeying God and going against His laws and who He is and that's what makes it even more horrible to me
-I remember those nights after doing things i know were bad but felt good at the moment, and driving home i would cry...even cry myself to sleep sometimes, but i could have cried till i was blue in the face, that would not have have shown God that i repentant, because i would go the next weekend and do it all over again
-i didn't love myself therefore i didn't respect myself...but if i would have loved myself than i would have stopped doing those things and saved myself a lot of heart break
-Love covers a multitude of sins - that love would have been sufficient for me and to help keep me from the drunkenness, carousing and such

-I am a witness of God - His child, His servant, just His, and i did not act like that in the past
-But now it is time to let those times go....enough with the "those were the days" and the reminiscing...there is nothing back there that i enjoyed or am proud of
-I enjoyed the fun volleyball days, the adrenaline of the game, the happiness of the win, the annoyance of more practice....but its gone now
-All those things are are memories...that's it. Memories in the past that are gone and now its time for the present
-Time to look at what God wants now, let go of those sins and stop punishing myself
-No one can rewind, no matter how hard we try, we can't be 16 again, and we never will, but i am 26 now and living a dream
- Its time to live this dream as my dream, as the gift that God gave me and use it to minister to others who need that encouragement
-I am a witness of God, a person that God is using and loves and adores and has only mercy and grace
- He is doing a new thing and i have to go with His flow, its time for me to stop trying to make the flow...its Gods flow now

Lord,
Take this flow out of my hands. I am yours forever and always. Guide me and take me by the hand. Take my life and carry it out of this world. This world full of sin and junk, and take me to you. Wherever you are that's where i want to be cause than i can think of you, be with you, and just worship you. Take away all thoughts of the past and put all the present in front of me. I want to be yours and you mine.
