Melissa's Life Journal

I love God more than anything in this world. I am not perfect and mess up from time to time. Though my heart is true and He knows it.

Desperate times call for Desperate measures

2 Samuel 11-12; Psalm51; Matthew 23

2 Samuel 11:14-17 In the morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it with Uriah. 15 In it he wrote, "Put Uriah in the front line where the fighting is fiercest. Then withdraw from him so he will be struck down and die."

16 So while Joab had the city under siege, he put Uriah at a place where he knew the strongest defenders were. 17 When the men of the city came out and fought against Joab, some of the men in David's army fell; moreover, Uriah the Hittite died.

What would you do to try and hide your sin? David was willing to kill a man. Not everyone would go that far though many people are hiding something. Hiding because they are scared that someone would find out the truth. But why do people hide? Because some people are ashamed, others are hurt, and scared of the consequence.

2 Samuel 12:24-25
24 Then David comforted his wife Bathsheba, and he went to her and lay with her. She gave birth to a son, and they named him Solomon. The LORD loved him; 25 and because the LORD loved him, he sent word through Nathan the prophet to name him Jedidiah.

When a sin invades our lives its so hard to let it go. It becomes a part of us a part of our present and future. It may even define us for years. David was known as the man after Gods own heart. Then when he sinned with Bathsheeba he was known as the man who took this poor mans wife. The Lord doesn't like it when we sin and hide it. God wants us to be clean and be known for His child instead of the worlds pawn. David knew that he couldn't just leave Bathsheeba behind, he sinned with her and they went through a miscarriage together. David had to take responsibility and take the consequences as a man. And the moment David started thinking like a man of God is when God began blessing him again. God wants us to do something about our sin. Either expose it or get rid of it. And from that moment He will start blessing His children. Lord, Thank you for always watching out for me. I know there are things that i am hiding in my heart that i need to do something about. I can only do this with you being with me and never letting me go. You have always been there and i know you will always be there. I forever love you always Amen
