Melissa's Life Journal

I love God more than anything in this world. I am not perfect and mess up from time to time. Though my heart is true and He knows it.

They shouldn't all be "normal"

Lev 1-3; Acts 13

Acts 13:46-48
Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. 47 For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “‘I have made youf]">[f] a light for the Gentiles, that youg]">[g] may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’h]">[h]48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

The jews knew that they were the chosen people. But throughout the years they had taken what God saw a blessing to them for granted. They moaned, complained, saw God and even worshipped other idols. They took their messiah and betrayed him. Instead of God waiting for them to change their ways and wholly and completely trusting God, He had to move on from them. They were still the chosen people but other people needed God and through the humanity of Christ, He was able to see them. Gentiles needed God just as much as the jews and God appointed Paul and Barnabas to reach out to them.

Sometimes when God puts people in front of us to save we don't want to talk to them because they don't look "normal". They are different looking, speaking, and acting so we are turned off. But like Paul and Barnabas, God has called us, called me to reach out to not just those that look "normal" but anyone and everyone. God called us to do this, not just certain people...He wants all of us to reach out to the Gentiles, to the lost, the broken, the sad, the mad, the angry, the sinful, the happy, the joyous EVERYONE.

Lord, Thank you for calling me into your will and service. Help me to reach out to those that need you the most. Give me the words and boldness to be your instrument and light. I forever love you always Amen
